Hand towel and cloth.

I made this set for my Nanna's christmas present. Its is made with Debbie Bliss DK cotton which was lovely to work with. The pattern Mitred hanging towel. was easy and I am very pleased with the result. I had a cute little white star button which was perfect and enough cotton left over to make a crochet dishcloth.
In other craft news I have cast on some more socks for Jay, still working on my FLS, itching to cast on another NORO scarf and *ahem* still need to felt my knitted basket.

Yummy Noro!

I recently made an Edgar scarf with the yummy Noro I bought at Evoke.

I have been busy reading and studying for the conference I went away to on the weekend - ALSO - Advanced Life Support Obstetrics. It was a very busy, educational and somewhat stressful weekend. I barely realised that I was in Sydney. Now that it is successfully done and dusted I can get back to some of my crafty goodness and finish the dragon trilogy too!

Gold Coast fun!

Our camping holiday on the Gold coast was a hit with the kids. We spent 4 nights camping and took them to Seaworld and Movieworld. They haven't been to a big theme park before and they had alot of fun.

On the way home we stopped for some lunch at the most easterly point of mainland Australia, at cape Byron lighthouse, Byron Bay.

Because I am lucky enough to have a wonderful man I also got my wish to visit Evoke Yarn at Lismore on the way home. After much spending up the Gold Coast, I was good and kept to my no more than $100 yarn budget and got some lovely Noro and 2 Evoke hand dyed skeins. The Noro is for some scarfs which I struggled to remember the name of when I met Elissa at Evoke (brain fuzzled after 4 nights in a tent with 4 little peeps!) I remember now though I am planning to make an Edgar scarf with one lot, undecided on the other. The brown sock yarn - more socks for the man who got me to the store (Mwah) and the other for a soaker for a friend expecting a boy bundle soonish

It was great to see all the colourways, I wish I lived a little closer! Probably better that I don't!

Mini scarfy and a headband too

I had some yarn left over from laura's socks and Scarlett has been asking for a scarf for a while so I made her a mini scarfy come home. She wore it riding her bike out the back, got hot and took everything else off leaving her scarf on.

The yarn just kept on going and so Imogen scored a new headband. Two quick little projects was just the break I need from my FLS. We head off camping in 2 days and I am hoping to stop in at Evoke on the way home on Monday, I have not been buying yarn lately due to alot of bills and things but I think I deserve a little treat.

A new look

Time for a little change with my Blog, I have been busy changing many things lately, little bits here and there, a makeover with this and that. I have recently lost over 20kgs and guess other things just needed to change too!!

Sure feels nice :)

In crafty news I am half way with my FLS and making a few more felt toys too, I have really been enjoying reading again too. I went and watched a movie yesterday, non animated for a change LOL. I went out with my SIL and saw Eat Pray Love, I really enjoyed it.

We are off for some family fun and adventure next weekend up the Gold Coast, will be sure to post some pics when we get back.

Yet another pair of socks!

I have been on a bit of a sock'n'roll lately, I finished the opal kids socks for Laura awhile ago and she has been loving them. I bought the wool ages ago at the back to back in 2008 from Susannes house of wool. I still have half the skein left, not sure what to do with it yet.


Jay has been busy too. He has made some more lovelly natural wooden stacking blocks.

Never seem to find enough time to keep my Blog up to date! I do have some excuses - the girls, Jay, work, crafting, reading, looking at everyone elses beautiful Blogs, some occasional sleep and our serene backyard, Life on the coast..............................

Ripple socks for Mum's Birthday

I finally used my delicious Yarn Cafe sock club Yarn and made my mum some ripple socks for her birthday (which ended up being a little late!). The yarn was gorgeous to work with and mum is happy with them, though I am sure people must get sick of getting woolly pressies from me!
