TY KALS

I joined in on a couple of KAL's at Tangled Yarns. For the first one I made the spring garden tee for Laura's 5th birthday! It is a little big for her, but at the rate she is growing that is not much of a problem. I love the pattern and it is made with one of my faves - Jo Sharp dk summer soho cotton.

The second KAL was the simple yet effective shawl. Such a nice relaxing pattern and SQUEEL its in NORO! I just love using Noro, its never boring and I always love the result!

crafting with the girls

A little while ago the girls and I had a wet felting day. They so love to do this and we used the felt to make some xmas tree decorations!

Jay did some work with air drying clay with them. We are really enjoying the use of the back deck for some messy crafty goodness!

Gift for a friend

A friend recently had her first baby and I made her a confection shrug and some bell bottom longies.

She liked them both so I made another confection shrug to give to another friend at her pod wash (baby shower).

I am about to join in with the Tangled Yarns KAL and will post some pics as I go. I am also working on some socks for my dad and the long going wip my cotton lace jumper.

About time!!

I thought it was about time I got on here and updated a little. I am sure to leave out a stack of projects, I have been really slack and haven't even taken pictures of everything since my last blog. So here goes with a bit of a catch up......

I finally finished my dublin bay socks and then went on to make some Thuja for Josie in the 'something new' yarn I received from Tanya at woolaholics. I went in the Cowl swap at woolaholics and forgot to take pics of the cowl I made before sending it. Aprilm from woolaholics sent me a gorgeous purple cowl and some hand dyed cashmere wool. I used the wool and made Laura a lace scarf.

I made some more Thuja for Jay but didn't get a pic before he was wearing them to keep his feet warm in the Blue Mountains. I finally finished with study and am now a Midwife!! We sold our house and have moved back up the North Coast. We are working on our new house and it is all feeling a little de ja vu!! With no more study I am enjoying more time with the family and guilt free crafting!!! I am settling into my new job and the girls into school and preschool.

I made myself a cotton scarf with some Jo Sharp and used the leftover cotton to make my mum a Tea dishcloth which I put into her mothers day parcel. I loved the dk cotton so much I decided to make myself a jumper which is a wip and have made a handful more dishcloths. I have a few more projects to upload onto the computer but will leave those for next time.

Top to Toe Swap.

I am so lucky, I received my Top to Toe swap this morning. Susanne from Susanne's house of wool sent me a gorgeous headband, 100gm of her hand dyed yarn, 4 stitch markers and some chocolates! Swaps are so much fun!

My swap I sent out arrived as well so I thought I might post a pick of the headband I made. I did a calorimetry with some yummy Noro.

I have also received the February sock club from Tangled Yarns FKA Dyelicious. The yarn is divine and we also got a envirosax bag in a cool watermelon colour (I have been wanting one for ages) and in keeping with the Valentines theme a choccy heart.

Immy's horse.

I decided on making a horse for Imogen's birthday. She loves it, so good choice! I enjoy making felt animals, the felt was wet felted a while ago.

I finished my 'Top to Toe' swap and sent it off, hopefully it will reach its destination soon............
I am still working on socks with the January sock club yarn, starting to get nervous that my yarn will run out!! I seriously do not want to frog after all the work I have put in!!! Fingers crossed.
I also sent in an assignment today. Woohoo! I really cant wait until I have finished all this study!!

Little seal

I made this little felt seal back in November for laura's birthday. I just never seem to have time to blog! I have to make another felt animal for Imogen's birthday which is on Monday. Just trying to decide between a horse or a cat...........................

I have made a headband for the Top to toe swap at woolaholics which I need to post off. Great swap idea , we had to make a headband and send some hand-dyed sock wool to our swapee. I loved it because the project was quick enough for me to fit in!

I am so run off my feet with study, work and family my crafting time has reduced and I am really missing it.

I am halfway through a sock which I am using the Jolly Jumbuck December sock club from yarn collective and want to get started on another pair with the Yarn cafe January sock club yarn. Which reminds me the february sock club from Dyelicious will be turning up anytime now too! I love wooly mail, makes me so happy!
