Scarletts rainbow bell bottoms

I made these up with the lovely yarn I got from Susannes house of wool. I am really happy with how they turned out and more importantly so is Scarlett. Now I have to decide what to make with the other skein. I originally thought I would make 2 pairs of longies. Now I can't make up my mind.

Jay is pleased with his scarf and he looks good in it too! It matches his car so what more could he want? He isn't used to wearing a scarf but as we head into winter at our new address I think he will be needing it.

Josies old teacher Allie had a baby girl a couple of nights ago so I made her a newborn soaker. So teeny tiny aaaww! Josie also wants to make her a mobile. We are all really missing her and the school.
I need to finish Josies birthday presents and I have some yarn to make the girls some school jumpers too............................

Busy,busy busy!!

We have been so busy! We moved and are settling in well now. We had alot of work fixing up the new house. Actually it is a WIP. LOL!

I have applied for a student midwife program which will commence late June(fingers tightly crossed) until then I am at home - Woohoo!!

I have been having a bit of a wooly shopping spree. I got some lovely hand dyed yarn from susannes house of wool and some stitch markers. I started some bell bottom longies for Scarlett in rainbow last night.

I also went to my LYS and got some Noro, Jo Sharp and some freedom spirit. Yesterday I made an order at the wool shack for some debbie Bliss cotton, some Rowan and Cascade wools.

I also scored a wool winder and spinning book on ebay! I really have had some buying fun this week. Our local markets are on this weekend too......................

I have made Imogen and Josie some beanies. Josies is the blue one ofcourse. I have put it away for her birthday parcel. I put a crochet flower on Imogens. I am just finishing a scarf off for Jay. I used the Jo Sharp aran tweed for it. I am half way through a rainbow felt dragon for josies birthday too. I also need to make her a steiner doll like I made the other girls. She has requested a boy one. When I finish Scarletts pants I think it will be time to make myself something. Noro scarf and gloves?? clapotis??

We are moving

Well I really am hopeless at keeping a Blog. I have been so busy though it just isn't funny. We are moving!!! I am hoping to get into a student midwife program. The intakes are June and January each year. Our house sold in 3 days and I have taken that as a sign. I finished up at work on the weekend. It was sad to say goodbye but I am looking forward to new adventures. The girls are sad to be leaving their school too but can't wait for the plane ride lol!

So have I had much time for craft?? Well I have made the girls some felt bunnies for Easter and an arcadia doll for Scarlett. I knitted a bunny for our neice aswell. I have really been enjoying reading again too atm. Most of my craft stuff is now packed.

I also made Jay a beanie in preperation for the colder climate we are moving to. Imogen turned 5 in february and I made her a doll.

Christmas goodies

I have been so busy completing some presents for christmas and the usual end of year run around. I never seem to find the time to Blog.

We had a lovely little family christmas at home and the girls were pleased with all of their goodies. I did pretty well too. I got some clothes, a lovely wooden chopping board and a watch. We got Jay a watch and clothes too.

I got some wonderful help with some felting the week before xmas. The girls loved it! The pieces were very unique LOL! and the bags needed some mending but it was nice to have some little apprentices working with me. The floor and all of us did get very wet and soapy. It really was a funny day to be remembered.
I got 2 big bags of fleece off a friend from work the other day. I will need to wash and card it but now xmas is out of the way and the holidays are here I am going to have a good go with my spinning wheel.....well try to anyway.
I tried to make as much of the presents this year as I could. I made batches and batches of rocky road which was Yummy and made felt bags and steiner toys too.

So maybe now I can get some knitting done too. Oh well times up. Scarlett is awake.

Recycled sari silk

I have actually made something for myself recently. Its a scarf I just ribbed with recycled sari silk. I just wanted to try it. It is rather heavy though.
I have nearly finished a soaker for Scarlett using up all my scraps of wool. It will be good enough for bed anyway.
I finished the school projects and have started with some of the other projects I have lined up. I have made one standing doll and am near fiinishing another.
I need to get a couple more dyed fleeces and have a wet felting day. The girls want to help me with that.
Scarlett is off and walking!! The time has just gone by so quickly. Josie is nearing the end of her 2nd year at school and Imogen is getting ready to start. Laura will be 3 in a couple of weeks! I am so lucky to have such lovely girls.

WIP's

My spinning attempts have been pretty funny so far! I need to get a few accessories and some more fleece.
I am making Scarlett a new soaker with all my leftover bits of wool. I just need to sew it up today. I made a felt dolphin for Josies school craft group last night. I have a couple of ducks and 3 roosters cut out and ready to sew up too. It is craft group tomorrow so I will try to get some of them done today. We are making standing dolls and finger puppets tomorrow.
Jay is working today and Josie is at school so I am home with the other 3. Scarlett is having a sleep atm and Laura and Imogen are watching ABC shows.
Better get off the computer and get some craft done while I have a chance!!
