Drum roll please

My longest running wip has come out of hibernation and is finally completed. I bought this Jo Sharp DK cotton when we were living in the Blue Mountains at the Katoomba wool shop. First I cast on a Jo Sharp lace jumper, got too busy with work and finishing study and decided to frog it and started again when we moved back up the North Coast. Then I lost weight and frogged it again.

I decided to cast on the February lady sweater even though it would have been a lot quicker and easier in 10ply wool as the pattern suggests. Anyway I found some cool faux leather buttons at spotlight to match the currant colour and I am happy to say I have finally made myself a jumper.

And it actually fits. I made full length sleeves, I wasn't as comfortable with the 3/4 ones. So my UFO's are down to Jays socks, my cross stitch and I have Just cast on a pressie for Imogens 9th birthday next month.

Corners of my world

A corner in my room, my bedside. I love my lamps, my box, my little tiger and ofcourse there is always a book. I have been shopping around for an e reader, not sure which one to go for?

What else would you expect to see on my wall?

A corner in my eldest daughters room. I love her little collection of treasures.

The front of my world, I love the jacaranda. I want to put some new timber up and some old style windows in. My husbands other love, his EK. We have 2 more cars in the garage (his corner of the world ) He is very clever.

My 3 youngest girls share this room, its a very big room, and a very pink room.

A corner of my back yard, I wish the rain would stop, its even wetter today!

a corner of my kitchen, I love teapots and teacups etc. Mmmm Tea, sounds like a good idea!

Happy wet and soggy Australia Day!!!

My Grandfather's emu eggs

In my last post I mentioned these emu eggs that my Grandfather made, I love them heaps. The small pocket knife was what he used to do this. I wish I could have met him.

Crochet throw rug

I continued with using up my bits of this and that yarn to make this throw rug for the 2 seater, the chevron is for the other lounge. I am only very basic with crochet, can't quite get patterns, but its a nice break from knitting to just freestyle with some crochet. Certainly is a splash of colour. This picture has me thinking I should take my camera around my home to share some corners of our place. This pic is in our cosy lounge room, the wall behind is the only brick wall inside which we used render effects on. I should look for a before picture. The mirror is one of my treasures, given to me by my dad. My  grandfather died before I was born and he was quite crafty and etched in mirrors and other things. I am lucky enough to have 2 beautifully crafted emu eggs aswell. I love the Australian themes he seemed to use with Koalas and Kookaburras on the mirror.

Organic beanie

I quickly whipped this ulli beanie up with some gorgeous organic hand dyed Evoke yarn from my stash. This was made for a very special family I was fortunate enough to care for.

Coconut Ice

A new batch of cotton dishcloths I crocheted before christmas.
